Animals New Clothes

This trip has gotten the animals some new Hawaiian style clothes.
Babs is modeling her new dresses. She wants you to notice her pretty flower we put on it.

And her two piece swimwear under it

Wim has his new swim suit with a green vest

He loves his colorful back to his vest

Tip went with the hip look of swimsuit, vest and head band

he too choose to have a colorful back on his vest

Hip being a Hawaiian native, went with a totally colored vest and orange swim trunks

his whole belief is Life Is Good. I want to adopt that belief as my life is good in so many ways

And being Hawaiian, he choose a surfer dude for the back of his vest.
As I do not have my sewing machine here and we decided that we did not want to spend too much money of relaxing wear, we went and found two t-shirts that were only $2.99 each and used those and a  $1 set of mini threads and needles. so their total cost for their new clothes was $7 plus some tax. We all think we did pretty well!

Trees for the Festival

As it is almost the end of January, I felt that I should get myself in gear and finish my 2017 Christmas posts. Here is the process I went though this year for the two large trees and one small tree that I decorated for the Festival of Trees First I measured the spaces needed down in my basement game /family area. This tree required a 7x9 foot area and the other required a 9 by 14 foot area. Next I put the trees bag where I wanted to put the tree up in each space. Then I got my ornaments gathered. Next was assembling the trees and checking to make sure the lights worked, as they are always new trees, so far I have not had a problem with lights. Then I put some of the ornaments on, the tree topper on, and the tree skirt around it to check how I am planning it to look. Next I stack the boxes I am going to wrap to had depth and high to the display Then I put out he other items I have that go with the tree theme. This one was a Hogwarts Christmas, of course.

Baked Sandwiches

Baked Meat and Cheese Sandwiches I started with two loaf of french bread as I wanted to make enough to freeze some for later and I have found that it only takes a few minutes more to do multiple batches so I can freeze some for a later date. I sliced the bread in half lengthwise Then in a mixing bowl I put one 8oz package of softened cream cheese  and 8 oz of softened butter I then cream it well until it is all mixed together and smooth Them comes the poppy seed I add 2 T of poppy seed And them cream it again until the poppy seeds are evenly mixed in the butter/cream cheese mixture I divide the mixture in 4 and spread it on the halves of french bread. Now you start to layer the meat and cheese. I started with ham lunch meat. you only layer on the bottom halves of the loafs then layered Colby Jack Cheese Then I placed sliced lunch meat turkey Then a layer of Swiss cheese Final

One of the things I have done off and on for the last 35+ years is cake decorating.  The below pictures are a sample of the pictures fro that whole time. It does not include the wedding cakes I have done. Later I will do a blog on how I used my favorite mold on several occasions to do cakes for different occasions. but have fun glancing through these.  this one above is my favorite of all the molds I have ever used Holiday and birthdays are my main ones I do thing for.
