sorting and separating

Well, I now have been trough all of my crafting things at least once.
This was what I had not gotten through yet. So yesterday I spent several hours going through it all.
The most time consuming was going through my jewelry supplies, 
 I decided I need to cut down what I was keeping by about 2/3.
 I ended up keeping about one bin of my favorite crystals and beads. I only kept those that we natural stones and that I could see as pieces of jewelry
Also I decided to cut down the silver components and golf filled components. This left me with about a box of supplies that filled a 18x18x18 box.
Below are other supplies that I admitted that I will probably never use. It is rather daunting to figure out what to do with all the things I am not going to use. I  kept anything that I felt I may still want to try!

 I am not giving up the Kumi, but these were all triplicates or ones I have. 
 I still have some origami stuff, but really how much will I really do?
 As I do not see me doing a great deal of this type of jewelry again I don't know why I would hold on to them.
 I have all these kits for leather projects. I am thinking maybe a scout group might want them?
 I am not even sure what I thought I would use this for
 metal sheets and paints  for them are also going
I as I sorted through things, I found I had several Styrofoam cutter.
All in all, I will be glad to find new homes for this stuff. I hope I can find someone who would like them, as I hate to just throw them away!

Trees for the Festival

As it is almost the end of January, I felt that I should get myself in gear and finish my 2017 Christmas posts. Here is the process I went though this year for the two large trees and one small tree that I decorated for the Festival of Trees First I measured the spaces needed down in my basement game /family area. This tree required a 7x9 foot area and the other required a 9 by 14 foot area. Next I put the trees bag where I wanted to put the tree up in each space. Then I got my ornaments gathered. Next was assembling the trees and checking to make sure the lights worked, as they are always new trees, so far I have not had a problem with lights. Then I put some of the ornaments on, the tree topper on, and the tree skirt around it to check how I am planning it to look. Next I stack the boxes I am going to wrap to had depth and high to the display Then I put out he other items I have that go with the tree theme. This one was a Hogwarts Christmas, of course.

Retreat!

I mean this in the best way. I am planning a retreat for June 19-22, 2014 in Park City, Ut. The theme of it is Summer Magic and I am in the process of lining up the place. I am hoping to get the bids back any day now, so I can decide and get thing officially started. The preplan for this retreat is that it will have at least 4-6 craft sessions (one jewelry, one leather working,  something with greeting cards, the rest are still in the finalization process). We retreat will include a welcome party and a little shopping experience from some of our teachers and others on thursday night with some edible treats! Classes friday and Saturday during the day time. Lunch will be provided on those days. Swaps are in the process of being planned for friday night as well as  make and take project(s). One of the things I have done off and on for the last 35+ years is cake decorating.  The below pictures are a sample of the pictures fro that whole time. It does not include the wedding cakes I have done. Later I will do a blog on how I used my favorite mold on several occasions to do cakes for different occasions. but have fun glancing through these.  this one above is my favorite of all the molds I have ever used Holiday and birthdays are my main ones I do thing for.
