Pin Feather

For one of the steampunk events I had selling space at I created a series of hair pins.











They sold well, but I have not attended another steampunk event in a while and when I do 
I want to do some much more elaborate creation. This too did not catch my fancy to continue with them.

This is an easy to make ahead and in quantities dish. Lasagna First I assemble my toppings And noodles. I use the oven ready noodles as they are easier and less messy Then I chop up my vegetables And add them to the pan with my meat. In this set, I have onions, peppers, zucchini, and hamburger I then fry them together until hamburger is well cooked and mixed with the cooked vegetables Next I start by putting a thin layer of sauce on the bottom top the sauce of my baking dish.    Then put a noodle on that sauce and spreading another generous bit of sauce on top of the noodle. Step 1 Next I spread cottage cheese on top of the sauce and mix it together, spreading it as evenly as I can over the noodle. Hawaiian Lei's

I am sharing my experience on making a flower Lei This took place in Hawaii last year. We used orchids and plumeria flowers and Ti leafs. This took place in one of the courtyards at the shopping area near us. We started with a basket of flowers, a Ti leaf, a very thin long needle, and "thread". I asked what the thread was and she told me we were using dental floss. She went through making one to show us how, before we started. We tied a knot a few inches into the thread then pushed the needle through a strip of Ti leaf we folded small.  Then we gently ran the needle through the center of the orchids Also we added the smaller flowers by going sideways through the thickest pa rt of the flowers base. We made to be gentle as we did them and make sure we were gently pushing them together We used the flowers in the basket, alternating them into whatever pattern we each wanted. Fairy Swap Pages Yesterday I finally got started on creating my Fairy Swap pages. My granddaughter Aryn (5) and I used the different cutting devices that I had and cut a huge pile of images out. We also cut the main pages out so that they were the right shape. With all of the tools I have, I know longer have a straight edge cutter! So we had to do them by hand with a pair of scissors. This morning I wrote the poems and verses, then went down to my work area to assemble my fun projects. The glue I had must be old as it was not sticking well, so I decided on putting a finish on them. The third one was the charm and I think these will be ready to mail off soon. I ended up doing 9 page back and front. Here is just a sampling of them.
