Mirror, Mirror

Image
For a retreat I went to we were told to create some mirror to exchange as a swap. I started with just some dollar store mirrors and decorated them up . I did several to decide which one I wanted to take along and swap I decide I likes the butterflies best so that was the one I choose Next I had to decide what kind of packaging to use. I choose a book I picked up at a thrift store. Then I cut out the center so the mirror would fit in and glued the pages together to have a hiding place in the book. Finally I decorated the inside cover and first page to accent my project When finished, the mirror fit nicely inside this mother goose story book

Getting ready to Show

Most shows I attend had a variety of things I had made. When I was packaging things up in my work area it looked like a mini tornado has come through Every surface had things on it And I always had a few things that I decided to make last minute even some chainmail product, like the start of the bracelet below I never did the same design twice, so every piece was a pretty much unique even the woven necklace had different colors and glass pieces with them and lets not forget the steampunk style things and the ones I just semi precious  and precious stones in this is one I did with silver and gold chainmail style and astone heart This one is one where I stamped the metal and distressed it In my hotel before a show, I would use my bed to sort out my jewelry so I could have the pieces groups in style together I used the desk for the earring to make sure they survived the trip all right and were all in good condition to sell...

Hats Off

Another set of things I did for the steampunk conventions I sold at were these mini hats. I tried to made each one a little different Adding from a set of feathers I had on stock And just trying to creat ones that would macth a number of outfits They were about half size or a regular hat and attached by hair pins to hold them on. I have many more ideas for steampunk hats, but think I will venture into full size hats when I circle back to them.

Pin Feather

For one of the steampunk events I had selling space at I created a series of hair pins. They sold well, but I have not attended another steampunk event in a while and when I do  I want to do some much more elaborate creation. This too did not catch my fancy to continue with them.

Cleaning up my act, took a turn to trying my hand at soap making These are all natural gentle soaps and I sold them at a few of the events I had booths or tables at. They were fun, but I love to try new things and they were not one of the things I decided to getting really into.
